Proudly offering swim lessons to all ages in San Diego, CA, and Mesa, AZ.
Parent-Tot Swim Classes
Ages 2 months to 36 months
Introduce your young child to swimming through our Parent-Tot swim lesson program. These parent participation classes are a great way to spend some fun, quality time with your young child, while building critical water-safety skills.
We limit the Parent-Tot swim lessons to 4 students per class. Our United States Swim School Association certified instructors lead you in teaching your child beginning swimming and safety skills. Classes match the child’s age and developmental level, and instructors use praise, encouragement, and songs to make the experience enjoyable for both parent and child.
When a swimmer turns 3 years old or demonstrates readiness to the instructor, we place them in a Level 1 class.

Level 1
Ages 3 and older
We limit all of our group swim classes to three students to provide more individualized instruction. Our Level 1 class targets beginner swimmers.
Our unique, gentle approach uses positive reinforcement to make swimming and learning FUN while still challenging students appropriately. This method works well for every child, from the very timid to the fearless. These classes teach the essential skills your child needs to feel comfortable and safe in the water. Once a swimmer can independently swim 12.5 yards (half a length of the pool) and float on their back, we move them into a Level 2 class.

Level 2
Ages 3 and older
Level 2 classes emphasize comfort, independence, and propulsion through the water using proper swimming technique. Each class builds on the previous one, breaking down the skills students need to learn technically proficient freestyle.
Additionally, as students progress, instructors introduce the basics of proper arm and body movements for backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Once a student can swim freestyle 25 yards (one length of the pool) and swim 12.5 yards backstroke, we move them into a Level 3 class.

Level 3
Age 3 and older
Advanced swimmers explore the competitive aspects of swimming and transition from basic freestyle to competitive freestyle.
Students perfect breaststroke and butterfly while continuing to reinforce freestyle and backstroke. Additionally, instructors teach streamlines, competitive starts, turns, and finishes. Once a swimmer can swim all four competitive strokes for 25 yards, they can move on to swim team.
Endurance Training / Pre-Swim Team – San Diego ONLY
Ages 5 and older and must be able to swim several lengths of the pool to participate.
Our Aqua Pros Pre-Swim Team is a feeder program into San Diego’s local USA competitive swim teams and training for the Jr. Lifeguard programs.
Our Saturday drop in endurance trainings are designed to help swimmers gain endurance and fine tune all of the competitive swimming strokes, starts and turns. Even if a swimmer does not choose to further their swimming on to a competitive swim team, Saturday swim practices are a great addition to their regular Level 3 swim class.
Classes are held every Saturday from 1-2PM. The fee is $20 per drop in session.

Special Abilities
All Ages
Our Special Abilities program customizes swimming instruction specifically designed for children with special needs.
Learning to swim is not only a safety skill, but a source of confidence building and body conditioning. With confidence in the water, students with special abilities have another social outlet. We consider the water safety skills that are taught at Aqua Pros Swim School to be an essential foundation for lifelong, safe enjoyment of the water.

Pool Pals for Students with Autism
Since 2001, our Pool PALS (“Persons with Autism Learning to Swim”) program has taught thousands of students with autism the lifesaving skill of swimming.
Aqua Pros Swim School has partnered with the Autism Society San Diego to provide private swim lessons to those with autism, in addition to monthly pool parties and summer surf camp. Our yearly fundraising efforts help to provide 2 month swimming scholarships and reduced rates to current Autism Society San Diego members.
